Yesterday morning my dog, Bucky, passed away quietly in his sleep. He had been battling cancer in his throat and had managed to overcome it, but was just recently afflicted with ulcers in both his eyes. He was also battling a bad cold. He underwent the surgery last Monday for his eyes and everything seemed to be fine. He had lost a lot of wait due to the cancer though.

In the end, I believe he is better off. He was just tired and wanted to rest.

Ancient Egyptians believed that upon death they would be asked two questions and their answers would determine whether they could continue their journey in the afterlife. The first question was, "Did you bring joy?" The second was, "Did you find joy?"

I know the answer to the first question is yes, and I would hope the second one is the same. I have no regrets. We did everything we could for him, and I know he loved us as he didn't go away to die, he was laying at the foot of my mother's bed.
